E.J. Waltemire

Designer

E.J. Waltemire is a designer based in Dayton, Ohio, with nearly twenty years of experience in the political space. He began his career as a firefighter/EMT in rural southeast Ohio, an experience that shaped his worldview and made plain the challenges facing working-class communities. He eventually channeled it, along with his eye for good design, into work with grassroots political campaigns. Through his studio, Public Ruckus, he has designed for Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Ohio Democratic Party, the Jane Fonda Climate PAC, and the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association, along with congressional and Senate campaigns across the country.

Raised in Appalachia with working-class grit, determination, and a strong work ethic, he brings that grounding to everything he makes. Today E.J. works as an independent designer specializing in brand identity and bold social media graphics. His work is rooted in working-class values, a utilitarian aesthetic, and clear, direct communication.
